Harper! Harper! Harper!

After work I rushed over to the Best Western and managed to get into the Conservative rally even though my name didn’t make it on to the list! It was good that I was there early because when they asked for energetic people I put up my hand and got to sit in the front row of the ‘fun section’ with a Harper sign and noise makers. Pastor Craig and his family and Pastor Ken and Emerson stood on the stage right behind the Prime Minister (watch the news tonight they should be there!). I guess they know the right people :D. After waiting for about 30 minutes and chatting with the people around me, Stephen Harper made his appearance with his wife. He gave an excellent speech and emphasized again the need for a steady hand in Ottawa that will continue to lower taxes, keep the federal budget in the black and support families. At the end of the speech I got to shake his hand (his was slightly clammy :D) as he passed by. All in all it was a really cool experience and a great way to make the whole election seem more real and relevant to life. Again the challenge stands.
